With 12 fresh cases reported in Assam, the state tally has gone up to 526 on May 25, 2020. Of the 12 cases, 9 Lakhimpur and 3 from Sivasagar.
Out of the 526 cases, 62 have been cured or discharged, 457 are active while four died due to the infection and three patients were migrated.
Taking stock of the matter, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted
On May 25th, so far the state has recorded 134 cases since morning.
On May 24th, 2020, Assam registered 46 cases so far while on May 23rd, 2020, the state registered 67 cases.
On May 22, 2020, the state witnessed a massive spike in positive coronavirus cases with 49 new cases reported. On yesterday evening, 26 people quarantined at Sarusajai Quarantine Centre were tested positive for the virus.
Assam has the highest number of confirmed coronavirus cases.

The novel coronavirus has infected over 1.38 lakh people and claimed over 4,000 lives as on May 25, 2020, morning, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. There are 73,560 active cases with 57,721cases discharged and cured.

Among the states, Maharashtra is the first state to cross a thousand deaths. It has recorded 50,231 corona cases with 14,600 cured and 1635 deaths. The western state is followed by Gujarat and Tamil Nadu. Gujarat has corona 14,056 cases with 6412 cured and 858 deaths. Tamil Nadu has registered 16,277 cases with 8324 cured and 111 deaths. The National Capital with 13,418 COVID-19 cases has crossed the 10 thousand mark on May 25th, 2020. So far, 6540 have been cured in Delhi with 261 deaths.
India has surpassed China’s official figure of 82,933 confirmed coronavirus cases. India is the 11th most cases in the world. So far, the USA has the highest number of COVID_19 cases at 1,686,436.
