GUWAHATI: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Saturday handed over the appointment letter to Borsing Bey as constable in Assam Police who displayed exemplary honesty and bravery helping in the recovery of illegal drugs worth Rs 12 cr.
Speaking on the occasion the Chief Minister said that one of the important qualities of a home guard is to resist the temptation is very important for home guard.
The Chief Minister also congratulated of SP Karbi Anglong and his team for neutralizing militant organization, nabbing criminals etc. He added that a good leadership motivates the team to work harder.

Speaking further Sarma stressed that honesty and bravery will always be respected.
The decision to appoint Home Guard Borsing Bey as Constable in Assam Police was taken by the cabinet on Thursday.
The tale of Borsing Bey’s honesty is spreading far and wide making him the hero cop. Netizens from all across the country have been showering him with praises and applauses.
Earlier, Assam DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta had announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for Bey for his uprightness that led the police department to win another crusade against illegal activities.
On the evening of June 21, Bey was on his duty at a checkpoint in Dhillai in Karbi Anglong where a truck carrying drugs was intercepted.
The group tried to bribe him however the honest homeguard refused to give in.
