The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) on August 13th, 2020, has donated Rs 25 lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund, Assam to tide over the various crisis situations faced by the state like COVID-19 and floods. The cheque was handed over to Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonwoal.

The association also apprised the CM of various infrastructural development activities undertaken by the ACA for the last 6 months. The CM was also informed about ACA's decision to revive cricket in Assam from September, 2020 onwards.

The Chief Minister expressed his satisfaction over the various developmental projects undertaken by ACA in different districts of Assam and advised ACA to speed up the works so that the young generation can get enough boost to develop their talent.

Assam has reported 2796 new COVID-19 cases pushing the state’s total to 71,795 in the last 24 hours. The positivity rate was 4.55%. Meanwhile, the death toll has increased to 169 with eight new deaths. Of 71795 total confirmed cases, 22,240 are still active and 49,383 have recovered.
