GUWAHATI: On account of the counting of votes for the Assam assembly elections the Assam government has announced a ‘Dry Day' on May 2 and 3.
The sale and consumption of alcohol will be ban during the period.

The excise department distributed directives to all of the state's deputy commissioners, divisional officers, and excise superintendents.
The order specified that the dry day would not be effective on May 3 in districts where all seat results would be announced by 11 am on May 3.
Assam assembly elections for a total of 126 constituency seats were held in three phases on May 27, April 1, and 6.
