In continuation of Notification No. ASDMA.20/2020/ 83 dated 4th July, 2020 and in partial modification of the same, the following activities are allowed for the week between 5th July, 2020 and 12th July, 2020 with strict observance of all COVID 19 in Kamrup Metropolitan District, Assam

  1. All stand-alone Grocery shops are allowed to operate between 11 AM and 4 PM from Monday to Friday (6th July, 2020 to 10th July, 2020). Shopkeepers and customers shall have to wear masks, hand gloves and maintain social distancing. Responsibility of maintenance of social distancing will be on the shop owner and failure to do so will be viewed very seriously and may entail summary closure of defaulting shops. Maintenance of price line and prevention of artificial shortage will be the responsibility of shopkeepers and Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs Department, Assam;
  2. Whole sellers of grocery items are allowed to replenish stocks of retailers on Sunday (5th July, 2020) and Tuesday (7th July, 2020) between 12-00 Noon and 6 PM;
  3. House to house sale of fruits and vegetables etc. shall be allowed between 8 AM and 2 PM on Monday and Wednesday ( 6th & 8th July, 2020);

No roadside vending of any fruit, vegetable, fish etc will be allowed;

Assam reported a total of 1202 COVID-19 cases on July 4th, 2020 taking the state’s total to 11001. Out of the 1202 cases, 777 of these from Guwahati City alone. The state government has said to maintain “extra vigil” following the situation, especially for Guwahati. Following the detection, another 416 have been discharged.

So far Assam has 11001 cases, 4241 are active cases while 6743 have been cured and discharged and 14 died due to the infection in the state so far.
