Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on November 29 received awards for 10 Guinness World Records set by the people of the state under Amrit Brikshya Andolan.
Expressing happiness over the major achievement, CM Sarma said that it was because of the collective efforts of the people that bore the fruit of their aim to plant record number of saplings under Amrit Brikshay Andolan.
Speaking at the event, CM Sarma said, "Next year, we are targeting to plant 3 crore saplings. Efforts will be made to produce those tree saplings in our government nurseries under Compensatory Afforestation Fund Management and Planning Authority funds next year and not import from outside".
The chief minister also stated how negativity affects the environment and requested the forest department to respectfully demoralize those thoughts with proofs.
The certificate award ceremony was held at Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra in Guwahati that show the attendance of dignitaries both from the state government as well as from Guinness World Records.
The certificate award was presented under nine categories and an additional one with regards to the highest number of records created at a single platform.

Largest number of saplings distributed at one venue in 24 hours
Most trees planted by a team in 24 hours
Most trees planted by a team in 1 hour
Largest potted saplings mosaic
Most people planting trees simultaneously
Largest area to be covered by sapling
Largest photo album of people planting trees online
Most pledges received for an environmental sustainability campaign in 1 month
