In a major breakthrough, the Assam police recovered huge amounts of a cache of arms and ammunitions in Udalguri on June 24th, 2020.

A search operation was carried out since early morning on Wednesday and able to recover huge amounts of arms and ammunitions which were illegally stored inside a deep jungle at Kemengaon under Udalguri police station of Assam, police said.

The cache was kept illegally buried by unknown miscreants and it was recovered by police administration in the district. However, no one has been arrested till filling of this report.

The recovery arms of ammunitions were included two AK-47 rifles, two AK 56 rifles, four magazines, and 220 live ammunitions.

“The police administration has been taking stern operation initiatives against the militants or miscreants in the region. The police have been dedicated towards peacekeeping and a healthy environment in the region,” said a senior police officer in Udalguri.

Meanwhile, four persons have been arrested for involved with allegedly kidnapped and murdered of a driver at Kazigaon area in Kokrajhar district.

According to family source, Aminur Khan (35) of Jaynagar under Gossaigaon subdivision in Kokrajhar was pretended kidnapped by some unknown miscreants and later reportedly murdered whose body was recovered on Tuesday at Monglajhora area. He was vehicle driver and called for a rented vehicle by unknown miscreants. He was reportedly kidnapped on June 9th last.

Family members lodged an FIR with police since he went missing and accordingly his body was recovered on June 23rd, 2020 on decomposed condition at a nearby road at Monglajhora area under Kazigaon police station.

Police administration arrested four persons for involved with kidnapped and murdered of Aminur on Tuesday last. They have been identified as Akshay Sangma (2) of Magurmari, Sawl Marak (22) of Matiadol, Kapil Brahma and Sunil Basumatary of Kazigaon area. A 7.65 mm pistol was recovered from them.

Various organizations including Kokrajhar district unit of Goria Moria Deshi Jatiya Parishad, ABMSU, AAMSU strongly condemned the incident and demanded strict punishment to the involved culprits.

President of Goria Moria Deshi Jatiya Parishad Sheikh Selim Patgiri condemned the incident and put demand to the district civil and police administration to check the incident and punished the involved culprits with strict law.
