The has been reported in Kaki of Lanka in Assam. Nearly 14 bags of rice grains meant for a midday meal in Madhavdev English School was allegedly stolen and sold by the Principal Shivaprasad Bora and Chowkidaar Uttam Bora alias Kushal Bora.

Despite regular complaints by the locals and the school managing committee, the principal and the chowkidar did not bother. However, on Wednesday, the things went wrong for the duo as the locals along with members of the managing committee caught both of them red-handed selling the rice grains. They were caught while loading 15 bags of rice grains in a tempo.

On inquiry by the locals, the chowkidar said the rice grains were sold as per the directions of the principal of the school. Kushal Bora said, “Gopal Das, member of the Managing Committee had informed us that it was not edible and I showed it to the headmaster. They asked me to purchase good quality rice. So we bought it.”
