GUWAHATI: The Assam Education Department has decided that 75% of seats in Degree Courses of the government and Provincialised Colleges shall be reserved for the students of the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC).
It has also decided to increase the seating capacity of U.G. level courses in the institutions by 20%.
Therefore, the Director of Higher Education, Assam, Dharma Kanta Mili has urged the universities of Assam to accommodate the increased number of seats.

He also requested Gauhati University, Dibrugarh University, Bodoland University, Cotton University, K.B.V. Sanskrit & Ancient Studies University, Bhattadev University, Madhabdev University, Rabindra Nath Tagore University, Women University, and the Principal (s) of all government, Provincialised and government Model Colleges of Assam to open online portals for admission in Under Graduate and Post Graduate Courses for the Academic session 2021-22 through online mode immediately.
Moreover, to avoid duplicate data and multiple admissions, institutions have been asked to use a unique ID generated by the desired students in the Web portal of the Director of Higher Education, Assam for online admission.
