Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has just announced that 'Dhing Queen' Hima Das has been offered the post of DSP (or Deputy Superintendent of Police) with the Assam Police by the State's Government.

Biswa Sarma made the proclamation while announcing the 2020-21 budget during the ongoing Assembly Session. The Minister also said that the athletes who get medals in Asian Games and Olympics will be offered APS or magistrate jobs directly by the administration.
The Government has also announced that Rs 1000 Crore will be allocated for 'Swami Vivekananda Youth Empowerment Yojana' for upcoming youths.
It may be mentioned here that Hima Das, nicknamed the Dhing Express, is an Indian sprinter from the state of Assam. She holds the current Indian national record in 400 metres with a timing of 50.79 s that she clocked at the 2018 Asian Games in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Meanwhile, Hima's stardom has been noted by the who's who of India's entertain, sports, and business industry. In 2019, Hima went on a gold winning spree in Europe, and she was lauded by several noted personalities, including Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan.
Later, Hima was even invited to be a part of the popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. Hima, along with Dutee Chand and cricketer Virender Sehwag, won prize money of Rs. 12,50,000 which they have donated to Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS Foundation) which is an entirely free residential home for poor children.
