Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS) leader Akhil Gogoi on Sunday lashed out against the BJP party over its move to implement the contentious Citizenship (Amendment) Bill.
Gogoi said that the KMSS will carry out awareness drives from tomorrow onwards to every nook and cranny of Assam, to alert them to the dangers of the proposed Citizenship Bill. "Our stand is very clear -- we have no option but to protest the CAB -- as it is the only option if we are to save the Assamese."
Gogoi has also stated that on November 22, the KMSS will stage a protest in front of the Raj Bhavan as a mark of protest . "We want the message to be relayed to the Centre by submitting a memorandum to the Governor", he said.

Gogoi urged all the indegenous organizations of Assam to join hands to fight the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill together. "Apart from the seventy organizations with the KMSS, and the thirty organizations under the AASU, I urge all the local organizations to fight against this draconian Bill together", Akhil said.

It may be mentioned here senior members of the BJP, including Assam Finance Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, have announced that a freshly-drafted version of the Citizenship (Amendment) Bill will be tabled in the Parliament during the winter session.
