Continuing the efforts to curb the rampant drug smuggling in Manipur, the troops of Assam Rifles once again recovered a huge amount of contraband drugs at Tengnoupal Check Post near Sita Road Junction.

The Assam Rifles' troops at the Tengnoupal Check Post had stopped a vehicle on suspicion. On searching, the troops found suspected brown sugar weighing 658 grams.

The vehicle, a maroon colored Maruti Alto car, was driven by one Sayed Abdus Sattar (22). The car, bearing registration number MN 01 X 4569, was also seized.

The apprehended person along with the recovered items has been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further investigations.
