China alerted India recently of releasing water from the swelling Yarlung Tsangpo river causing panic among people living near Siang river in Arunachal Pradesh and Brahmaputra in Assam. However as of Saturday morning, most rivers in Upper Assam were flowing below the danger level.

The Water Resources sub-division of Doom Dooma in Tinsukia district has released the water level of different rivers flowing across Upper Assam on Saturday. The water level of the rivers on Saturday morning is as under.

In river Noa-Dehing at Chumoni, the water level was 135.34m (danger level is 137.00m). Similarly, the water level of Brahmaputra at Dholla was 125.30m (danger level is 128.30m).

The level of water in Kundil at Chapakhowa was 131.29m (danger level is 133.60m), 133.38m in Buri-Dehing at Margherita (danger level is 134.42m), 117.78m in Doom Dooma river (danger level is 123.72m) and 136.52m in river Tirap at Moulang (danger level 139.56m).
