Assam: Former MLA Bhubaneshwar Barman passes away at 97

Guwahati: Former MLA and freedom fighter Bhubaneshwar Barman passed away in Guwahati on Saturday.  He was ill for a long time and died this morning at Gauhati Medical College and Hospital.

The 97-year-old veteran politician was a two-time MLA from Patacharkuchi constituency in Barpeta district (now Bajali).

Barman was also elected during 1967-72 representing Praja Socialist Party and 1978-83 representing Janata Party.
