MARGHERITA: In a major development, the Rajputana Rifles, Tipong in a joint operation with Tinsukia police recovered approximately Rs 47, 50,000 in cash from Tinsukia district of Assam late yesterday night.
The amount of cash was recovered from a house of a person named Jagdish Chauhan, a resident of Ledo bazar.
According to source, police started the investigation around 10 pm and continues till 12 am.
However, police did not specify any details of the recovered funds.

Furthermore, it has yet to determine whether the amount of cash recovered is legal or illegal.
The joint operation was conducted based on a specific information.
Besides a grocery store, the Chauhan have two shop of dried fish.
Chauhan was also arrested by the police before on suspicion of having links with ULFA-I.
