GUWAHATI: With Assam gearing up for polls, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone of Dhubri Phulbari Bridge and perform the groundbreaking for the construction of Majuli bridge in the state around 12:50 pm via video conferencing today.
The function is scheduled to start at 12:30 pm today with welcome remarks by Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma followed by speeches by Mansukh Mandaviya, Union MoS (I/C) for Ports, Shipping and Waterways, Nitin Gadkari, Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Sarbananda Sonowal, the Chief Minister of Assam.
The programme will start with screening of a short film on Majuli Bridge.
Then, the PM will unveil e-plaques for (by pressing remote button) the bhumi pujan for construction of majuli bridge and the laying of foundation stone of Dhubri fulbari bridge.
The PM will launch the Mahabahu Brahmaputra which will be accompanied by the screening of a short film.
PM Modi will also unveil plaques to mark flagging off of Ro-Pax Services Majuli–Neamati, North-South Guwahati, and Dhubri-Hatsingimari.

The laying of Foundation Stone of IWT Terminal at Jogighopa & Tourist jetties at Jogighopa, Pandu, Bishwanath Ghat, and Neamati will also be held.
3. Launch of e-Portals, PANI and CAR-D for ease of doing business.
He will also lay the Foundation Stone of North East Data Centre, Guwahatim
The function will conclude with the PM's Address.
