Rajen Gohain’s wife Rita Nath Gohain breaks down in tears in front of media

Guwahati, March 23, 2019:

Union Railway Minister Rajen Gohain’s wife Rita Nath Gohain broke down in front of the media and said that the repeated telecast of Rajen Gohain’s alleged raped case by the television channels has led to mental harassment of the Gohain family.

Addressing the media, Rita Nath Gohain said, “The allegation on my husband is yet not confirmed by the court, how can the one running the television channels name him culprit? They should know that Rajen Gohain has a family which is struggling due to such allegations. This has not only had an impact on the family, but his career has also been destroyed. He lost the seat he had won for four consecutive terms. The allegation is actually part of a conspiracy to not let him contest this election.”

It may be mentioned that Rita Gohain’s name was expected to be included in the candidate list for the Lok Sabha elections from the Nagaon Constituency, however, the BJP has announced Rupak Sarmah’s name as the candidate from Nagaon.
