Tinsukia Youth Congress Seizes Five Illegal Coal-Laden Trucks

Tinsukia, October 16, 2019:

Continuing the crackdown against the illegal coal mafia in the State of Assam, five coal-laden trucks were seized by a team of Youth Congress leaders in Tinsukia district of Assam.

The trucks bearing registration number PB 05 AK 3313,PB 05 AL 6458,PB 05 AL 8825, PB 05 AL 5967 and PB 05 AL 6558, were seized by the team near Bogapani and handed over to the Digboi Police for further interrogation.

A Youth Congress leader said, "On-road coal transport has been banned since August 1, and everybody knows that only the coal that is being transported by trains is legal. This proves that illegal coal mufia is still running in full swing in the State. In Margherita, 15-20 trucks like these are being loaded. We have uncovered the Sarbananda Sonowal is also involved in these illegal activities."

It may be mentioned here that the drivers of the vehicles ran away after being confronted by the Youth Congress members.
