DHUBRI: Two persons have been arrested by Assam Police with a huge amount of cannabis in Dhubri district of Assam today.
Based on tip-off, Gauripur police today conducted a raid on the National Highway and to seize contraband cannabis from a bus which was travelling from Assam's Guwahati to Coochbehar, West Bengal.
Additional Superintendent of Police,Roji Rani Sarma and Officer in-charge Gauripur, Nilomoni Nath conducted the raid on the National Highway near Taarghat at Gauripur which falls under Dhubri district.

A bus bearing registration number (AS-15C-2153), which was travelling from Guwahati towards Coochbehar via Dhubri been stopped near Taarghat, and during the search operation police able to sieze thirteen kilo two hundred grams of cannabis apprehending two persons.
The accused persons have been identified as--am Bachan Roy (43) and Sumila Devi (45) residence of Bihar.
Another passenger travelling from Guwahati on the same bus who suspected the abnormal activities of both the miscreants and managed to pass the information to SP Roji Rani Sarma.
The police team immediately conducted the operation on the National Highway and able to seize the cannabis.
A case has been registered against both the apprehended person and the inquiry into the matter is underway.
