Guwahati, July 18, 2019:

Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has finally decided to speak up about the devastating floods which have affected more than 57 lakh people and claimed as many as 28 lives in the State.

Virat Kohli informed via social media platform Twitter that he is "heartbroken" to know about the floods in Assam. He write: "Heartbroken to hear the devastation caused by the floods in Assam. My thoughts and prayers go out to everyone affected out there."

The Indian skipper's post has since gone viral, and has been liked by over 11k accounts on Twitter at the time of filing this report. Although many commended him for showing his concern for the flood-affected in the Northeastern state, there were some who felt that he could have sent a stronger message by making a donation himself. One user wrote: "Donation kerte toh accha message jata" (should have donated to send a better message).

Another user wrote: "Kuch donate bhi kar do.. itna kamate ho" (donate something, as you earn so much).

However, some users were completely disinterested in the whole situation, and had entirely different concerns. "We Want Junior Kohli", wrote one of Kohli's fans, and it seems a certain section of Twitter is with him as his post received eleven 'likes'.
