AJP denounces Arvind Kejriwal's arrest, says 'an attempt to undermine the party'

Asom Jatiya Parishad has denounced the arrest of Aam Aadmi Party national convenor and Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED).

The secretary of the Asom Jatiya Parishad Central Committee and coordinator of 13 Dibrugarh Lok Sabha constituency, Sanjay Kumar Deb, criticised the arrest.

He suggested that the timing of the arrest, ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, was detrimental and unfortunate for India, the world's largest democracy.

Deb also accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of misusing his position to intimidate opposition leaders into joining his party through threats of ED, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and income tax investigations.
