Angkita Dutta claims IYC president Srinivas BV asked her: "What do you drink Vodka or Tequila?"

Former president of the Assam Youth Congress Angkita Dutta, who has taken the Congress party by storm by levelling a series of allegations against its IYC president Srinivas BV, said that the latter has been harassing her for the past six months.

Speaking to India Today NE, Congress leader Angkita Dutta said, "For the past six months Srinivas BV has been mentally harassing me and humiliating me."

Further, the Congress leader claimed that the issue began only after the Congress Youth Wing's national president Srinivas BV decided to announce the youth congress election in Assam.

Angkita Dutta asserted that she was elected the first vice-president and it was not more than a year that she took charge of her duties, however, following the exit of the then president to BJP she was appointed the full-time president.

"In my appointment order it was nowhere mentioned that I was the acting president," she added.

Speaking about the charges of harassment towards Srinivas BV, Angkita said that Srinivas engaged a person name Vardhan Yadav who is the IYC secretary in Assam and thru him, Srinivas BV has been allegedly harassing her.

Lashing out at Vardhan Yadav, Angkita Dutta alleged that the former has a history of corruption charges against him and was allegedly involved in Delhi University's Ramjas College admission case for which he was lodged in Tihar jail.

"I don't understand how can a person like Vardhan Yadav become an IYC secretary," she added.

Angkita Dutta also claimed that Yadav disrespected her and used to address her inappropriately by calling her "Yeah larki...Iss larki koh samjao...yeah kesi larki hah."

Following this Angkita said that she informed about the behaviour of the Yadav to her party leader (Srinivas BV), however, he failed to address her concern by not doing anything.

The Congress leader also stated that in Congress' 85th Plenary Session in Raipur, Srinivas BV lashed out at Angita and asked her what she is high on while texting messages.

"What do you drink while texting...Vodka or Tequila," said Angkita, following which she reported the same to IYC leadership and AICC general secretary.

While in Bharat Jodo Yatra also Angkita Dutta claimed to raise her voice against the humiliation carried out by Vardhan Yadav and Srinivas BV in Assam to Rahul Gandhi.

"When I when for the Bharat Jodo Yatra I met Rahulji and told him this has happened in Assam Youth Congress and without giving us any cause the single female youth congress president has been removed," she added.

Post which Srinivas BV started to harass her even more, Angkita Dutta asserted.

Speaking on IYC's claim on raising false allegations against Srinivas BV, Angkita said, "If I am raising false allegation then why would I be asking for an enquiry I have messages that Srinivas has written to me and they have acknowledged it."

On Angkita Dutta's touch with BJP leaders when the Karnataka election is in the pipeline, she said, "Honestly no one ... not even autorickshaw drivers know about Srinivas...so making Srinivas an issue in the election will not be of any help."

"Yes I have gone to meet Himanta Biswa Sarma's office, as I am working on a project on the mental health of young adolescent boys and girls in rural Assam which is extremely important and it is a government project," she added.

Angkita claims that now Srinivas is making propaganda against her and making posters of her with Himanta Biswa Sarma and talking about her CBI and ED cases.

"Srinivas collects money from these youth congress elections and uses the money to troll people and make these kinds of posters," she added.

On the closing lines, Angkita welcomes IYC's decision to take action against her and asserted that she will fight for it.
