In a heartwarming display of civic duty, a 104-year-old woman defied the odds and cast her vote today at the New Deohati Primary School no. 262 in Abhayapuri assembly constituency, nestled within the Barpeta Lok Sabha constituency. 

Haripriya Barua, the elderly voter, emerged as a symbol of resilience and commitment to democracy as she ventured out of her home to participate in the electoral process.

Amidst the bustling atmosphere of the polling station, Haripriya Barua, with her advanced age and diminished vision, stood as a testament to the enduring spirit of democracy. 

Expressing her excitement to be a part of the electoral process, she articulated her joy, stating, "I am so happy. I am 104 years old. My vision is not clear, I always stay at home."

For the elderly woman, today's excursion marked a rare departure from the confines of her home, infusing her with a sense of exhilaration as she contributed to the grand festival of democracy. 

Despite the challenges posed by age and limited mobility, Haripriya Barua's determination to exercise her franchise exemplifies the unwavering commitment to democratic principles that transcends generations.
