Assam: 2 IPL gamblers apprehended in police raid in Chirang

In a crackdown on illegal gambling activities, the Panbari police, led by station in-charge Sadhan Dutta, apprehended 2 individuals involved in IPL betting during a late-night operation in Bijni, Chirang.

Acting on a tip-off, a team of police officers conducted a targeted raid in Panbari, resulting in the arrest of 2 IPL gamblers.

The names of the gamblers are identified as Abu Bakkar Shaikh of Goroimari No. 3 and Bipin Saha of Betbari No. 1.

The police confiscated 2 mobile phones, believed to have been used for conducting IPL betting, from the possession of the arrested individuals. The seized evidence will be crucial in further investigation into the illicit gambling activities.

Following their apprehension, the 2 were taken into custody and transported to the Panbari police station for interrogation.
