Assam: 29 kg of marijuana seized from Humsafar Express in New Bongaigaon railway station, 5 held

In a major success in the war against drugs, the Railway police in Bongaigaon seized 29 kg of marijuana from Humsafar Express at New Bongaigaon railway station.

The Assam Railway Police conducted a raid at Humsafar Express number 12504 and seized huge quantity of marijuana hidden inside a bag. 

The railway police detained five persons identified as Meghan Paswan, Ramen Debbarma, Iti Debbarma, Dharmendra Paswan and Mohammad Mustakim.

All the detained persons have been taken into railway police custody who will initiate further probe into the incident.

Noteworthy, the state police as well as the railway police have been conducting several raids across the state in order to bring a halt to the illegal trafficking of drugs
