Assam: 4 KLO cadres arrested in connection with December 2023 grenade attack in Kokrajhar

Kokrajhar police have apprehended four members of the Kamatapur Liberation Organisation (KLO) in connection with the grenade attack that shook Sharkar Grocery in Dotma, Kokrajhar, on December 9, 2023.

The arrests come after an extensive four-month operation conducted by the Kokrajhar police across Lower Assam. The four KLO cadres, identified as Kanak Adhikari (26) from Ramfalbil, Arjun Roy (19) from Samtaibari Serfanguri, Anupam Roy (34) from Dotma West Dangarkuti, and Prasenjit Roy (26) from Hogomabil Dotma, were apprehended from various locations in Lower Assam.

Following their arrest, the suspects were promptly taken into custody and presented before the Dotma police station in Kokrajhar for a four-day remand. The arrests mark a significant breakthrough in the investigation, shedding light on the perpetrators behind the cowardly attack that targeted Sharkar Grocery.

The Kokrajhar police have registered Case No. 28/23 in connection with the grenade attack.
