Assam: 8 shops gutted after massive fire engulfs Balimukh market in Mayong

A massive fire erupted at Balimukh new market in Mayong during the early hours of May 25, causing significant damage and widespread concern. 

The blaze originated in a shop situated in the middle of the market and quickly spread, engulfing eight shops in total.

The fire resulted in the complete destruction of all the affected shops, including valuable documents and belongings. 

Swift action by the fire brigade, aided by the prompt response from the local community, successfully brought the fire under control. 

Despite the fire being extinguished, the incident has left the region in a state of heightened tension.
