The Chief Minister's Anti-Corruption Wing conducted a raid at the Bajali Deputy Commissioner's office, resulting in the arrest of Assistant Commissioner Gaurav Shekhar Das on bribery charges.
The operation, aimed at curbing corruption within the district administration, saw Das apprehended for allegedly accepting illicit payments.
Authorities from the Anti-Corruption Wing are currently conducting an extensive interrogation as part of an ongoing investigation.
Preliminary reports indicate that Das is suspected of engaging in a prolonged pattern of collecting bribes, purportedly linked to land mining transactions within the district.
