After a strenuous 14-day search, the bodies of two laborers, John and Final from Meghalaya, were recovered from an illegal coal mine in Ledo.
The successful recovery was achieved through the concerted efforts of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF).
The incident occurred at approximately 12 p.m. on May 24, when three laborers became trapped in the illicit mine.
From the onset, NDRF forces launched an intensive search and rescue operation to locate and extricate the trapped workers.
The joint efforts of the NDRF and SDRF culminated in the recovery of the bodies, marking a significant breakthrough in the operation.
The sub-divisional administration had also been vigorously conducting a large-scale search for the three missing miners, reflecting a determined commitment to bring closure to the tragic event.
