Assam: Body of missing young man found in Parbatjhora jungle

The body of 34-year-old Abdul Matin Fakir was recovered on Saturday, October 26 after he had been missing for five days. His body was found hanging in the dense jungle of Supari Ghat, located within the protected forest area.

Abdul Matin Fakir, son of Shahar Ali Munshir and a resident of Thuriya hill village, was reported missing since October 20. His family, during a search in the Supari ghat forest, discovered his body and alerted the authorities.

Police have identified the deceased and are investigating the circumstances surrounding his death. The nature of the case remains unclear, with officials stating that it will be determined whether this incident was a planned murder or a suicide.

Authorities from the Parbatjhora sub-divisional court and Kazigaon police were on the scene. The body has been sent for a post-mortem examination to gather further insights into the cause of death.

Local residents expressed their shock, stating, "The young man named Abdul Matin Fakir was missing since October 20, and today we found him hanging in the jungle."
