Assam: Boko teacher accused of harassing girl students, police launch manhunt

A teacher at Tarabari Majalia (Middle) School in Boko has been accused of serious misconduct involving female students, triggering widespread concern and a police investigation.

According to reports, four parents, supported by the Tarabari Youth Club, lodged a complaint at Boko Police Station against Nur Islam, a teacher at the school. The complaint alleges repeated instances of physical harassment in the classroom over the past several months.

The matter came to light after guardians intervened and raised an alarm over the teacher’s conduct. Preliminary inquiries indicate that multiple students may have been subjected to similar abuse.

Nur Islam, a resident of Balijhar Shuktatari, is currently absconding. Police have launched a search operation to locate him and assured that strict legal action will follow based on the investigation’s findings.

The incident has caused deep concern among parents and education officials, who are now demanding stricter monitoring mechanisms in schools to safeguard students from such violations.
