Assam: Brothers charred to death as massive fire engulfs house in Goroimari

A devastating fire claimed the lives of two brothers in Assam's Kamrup district on Monday night. The incident took place around 2 am at Bahadur Ali's residence in Jahirpur village, Goroimari. 

The deceased, identified as Sajan Ali (20) and Samej Ali (22), were reportedly charred to death. The mother of the victims, Anjuara Begum, was severely injured. 

The fire is suspected to have been caused by a short circuit. On receiving information, Goroimari Police and fire fighting personnel rushed to the spot and extinguished the fire. 

The police recovered the charred bodies and sent them for post-mortem examination to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH). Injured Anjuara Begum has been hospitalised. It's noteworthy that Bahadur Ali's sons were mute, and the incident has led to increased tensions in the area.
