Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma lays foundation for ISKCON temple in Dibrugarh

In a significant step towards promoting spiritual and cultural development in Assam, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for a new ISKCON temple in Dibrugarh. Addressing the gathering, Sarma expressed optimism about the temple’s timely completion, emphasizing its importance for the people of Dibrugarh and Upper Assam as a center of spirituality.

“I am fortunate to have the opportunity to participate in the foundation stone laying ceremony of the ISKCON temple today. I am confident that the construction will be completed soon, providing the people of this region a sacred space for spiritual growth,” Sarma stated.

In addition to the ceremonial event, Sarma touched upon the state’s ongoing investigation into an online trading scam. He affirmed his commitment to ensuring justice, revealing that over 30 individuals have been arrested in connection with the case. “I am fulfilling my responsibility in exposing this scam, and decisive action is being taken to bring the perpetrators to light,” the Chief Minister added.

This dual focus on spirituality and accountability underscored Sarma's determination to foster both moral and civic responsibility in Assam.
