Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has stated that the state is now competing with regions like Karnataka in attracting new industries.
He highlighted the government's efforts in creating a favourable environment for businesses through policy reforms and infrastructure development.
Sarma emphasised that Assam is rapidly emerging as a preferred destination for investors looking to establish their industries.
Addressing a gathering CM Sarma said, "In Assam, we have observed that compared to other states in India, the average age of our population is 22.7 years. India is considered a young nation both in the global context and within India, Assam stands out with an average age of 22.7 years. This means that while India is the youngest country globally, Assam is the youngest state in the country with an average age of 22.7 years. Naturally, being such a young state, we have a large population of youth. This has increased their expectations for jobs, their aspirations for employment and instead of frustration, there is a clear desire to work."
The government is working on various initiatives to boost industrial growth, including setting up industrial parks and offering incentives to investors.
Sarma expressed confidence that these measures would significantly enhance Assam's industrial landscape and generate employment opportunities for the local population.
