At the organisational meeting held at Rajiv Bhawan in Mangaldoi, Assam Mahila Congress President Mira Borthakur, sharply criticized the current Union Budget and voiced her disapproval of Mangaldoi MLA Basanta Das.
Borthakur accused the central government of prioritizing political interests over public welfare, stating, "Andhra Pradesh and Bihar are running governments at the Centre with two nails. So the budget packages have also been given to Andhra and Bihar to retain the two nails." She further alleged that the parliamentarians elected from Assam have neglected the state’s flood issues while focusing on Bihar's flood situation.

Describing the budget as a maneuver to safeguard political positions rather than addressing public needs, Borthakur remarked, "This budget is not a people's welfare-oriented budget; it is a budget to save chairs."
In a scathing attack on MLA Basanta Das, Borthakur labeled him as "spineless," accusing him of betraying the Congress party by aligning with Himanta Biswa. She asserted, "Basanta Das is a spineless person. Taking salary from the Congress, he took oil from the Congress and massaged the back of Himanta Biswa Sarma".
Borthakur concluded her statements by urging Das to appeal to the Speaker for his own dismissal from the MLA post, deeming his actions "unfortunate."
