Assam: Cop flees from police station after vigilance team conducts raid
In a bizarre incident, a senior cop escaped from the Rowta Police Station in Udalguri after sleuths of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption department reached the police station to conduct a raid on October 20.
As per preliminary reports, a team of vigilance and anti-corruption were on their way to the police station to conduct a raid. After getting information of their arrival, the Officer-in-Charge of Rowta Police Station, Kobin Rabha fled stripping off his uniform. It is suspected that the senior cop might have fled fearing he might fall into the trap and get caught.
The Udalguri Police have yet not confirmed as to what prompted the anti-corruption team to conduct a raid at the police station. Meanwhile, a search has been initiated to trace the OC of Rowta Police Station.
