Assam: Elephant attack claims one life in Tinsukia, leaves another critically injured

A harrowing incident unfolded in Kakopathar as an elephant attack claimed the life of one woman and left another critically injured. The deceased has been identified as Sushila Konwar, aged 45, while the injured woman, identified as Anju Badia, aged 47, has been rushed to Tinsukia for urgent medical attention.

The tragic episode occurred at approximately 6:30 am today, sending shockwaves through the community. The forest department has swiftly mobilized efforts to locate the elephant responsible for the attack, intensifying their search in the affected area.

As the community grapples with the aftermath of the incident, questions loom over the nature of the elephant involved. Thus far, there is no confirmation whether the elephant is domesticated or wild, adding an element of uncertainty to the situation.
