Assam: Fatal head-on collision claims three lives in Cachar

In a tragic incident on the National Highway connecting Silchar-Aizawl, a devastating head-on collision between a passenger Sumo vehicle and a truck in Narsinghpur, Cachar, has left three individuals dead and several others injured.

The calamity unfolded as a passenger vehicle en route from Mizoram collided head-on with a truck traveling in the opposite direction. Eyewitnesses reported that the collision occurred as the passenger vehicle attempted to overtake another vehicle at high speed, resulting in the catastrophic crash.

Three occupants of the passenger Sumo vehicle succumbed to their injuries at the scene of the accident, while numerous others sustained varying degrees of injuries. Prompt action by local residents led to the swift rescue of the injured who were promptly transported to Silchar Medical College for urgent medical attention.

As of now, the identities of both the deceased and the injured remain undisclosed pending formal identification and notification of their families.
