Assam: Foxes attack residents in North Guwahati, 8 critically injured

A group of fox attacked residents in North Guwahati leaving 8 persons seriously injured. The injured persons were later rushed to AIIMS and Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for treatment. 

The victims, identified as Parmananda Boro, Bharati Boro, Ranjan Boro, Ram Singh Aufe, and four others, are currently in critical condition, with doctors closely monitoring their progress.

This wave of fox attacks has instilled deep fear among the residents, disrupting their sleep and daily routines. The situation has escalated to such an extent that the local community has taken up arms, forming vigilance groups.

Armed with bamboo sticks, these groups, alongside the police and forest department personnel, are patrolling the area at night in search of foxes.

In a desperate attempt to scare away the wild animals, locals have resorted to bursting firecrackers, but the menace continues unabated. The persistent threat has left the community in a state of fear.

Adding to the frustration, residents have expressed their discontent with the forest department, alleging that their response to the crisis was delayed, further exacerbating the situation.

As the search for the foxes continues, the community remains on high alert, hoping for swift action to bring an end to the terror that has gripped Phulung region.
