Assam govt grants Rs 50 lakh, govt job to martyred CRPF jawan’s family

In a heartfelt gesture of honour and support, the Assam Government has announced a financial compensation of ₹50 lakh and a government job for a family member of CRPF jawan Praneswar Koch, who laid down his life in the line of duty.

Following the directive of Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Assam Cabinet Minister U.G. Brahma visited the bereaved family today to convey condolences and announce the assistance. The minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to stand by the families of those who make the ultimate sacrifice for the nation.

In line with the state’s policy, the family of any soldier martyred while on duty is entitled to ₹50 lakh as compensation, along with a government job for one eligible kin. The announcement has been met with appreciation across the region, seen as a gesture that upholds the dignity and service of fallen heroes.
