Assam: Hagrama Mohilary open to rejoining NDA as BPF-BJP alliance talks continue
Bodoland People's Front (BPF) Chief Hagrama Mohilary, who currently serves as the Chief Executive Member (CEM) of the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), has expressed willingness to rejoin the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), contingent on the successful conclusion of ongoing alliance talks with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Speaking at a press conference at Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar on Wednesday, Mohilary said, “Talks between BPF and BJP are ongoing regarding a possible alliance. If the discussions go well and are completed successfully, BPF will be part of the NDA.”

The statement signals a potential shift in regional political alignments, opening the door for renewed cooperation between the BPF and the BJP. The BPF had secured a strong mandate in the recent BTC elections, winning 28 out of 40 seats, bolstering its political influence and leverage within the council.
Observers note that the outcome of these alliance discussions could significantly shape the political landscape of the BTC and influence Assam’s broader political dynamics in the months ahead.
