In a major crackdown on drug trafficking, Bokajan Police seized heroin worth Rs 7 crore during consecutive operations along National Highway 39 near Sukhanjan under the Bokajan Police Station in Assam. The operations, conducted based on a tip-off, led to the confiscation of 745.74 grams of heroin packed in 70 soap cases.
The initial seizure occurred during a routine search of a Scorpio vehicle in the evening, prompting authorities to intensify their operations overnight. This led to another major discovery as heroin was recovered from a truck bearing registration number AS-01-RC-0882, which was en route from Dimapur to Golaghat.
Police have detained the truck driver, identified as Ramzan Ali from Dhing, for further interrogation. Authorities are continuing their efforts to dismantle drug trafficking networks in the region.
