Three individuals from the village have been accused in connection with this incident. Despite being rushed to multiple hospitals, Roy succumbed to his injuries on March 20 at GMCH.
Shockingly, even after 24 hours of his death, the police have yet to arrest the accused—Girija Newar, Khem Newar alias Bitu Newar, and Suraj Magar—sparking outrage from the All Assam Koch Rajbongshi Students' Union (AKRSU).
AKRSU Central President Atul Barman has issued a stern ultimatum, warning that if the accused are not arrested within 24 hours, the organization will refuse to accept Roy’s body and will launch a highway blockade protest.
The victim’s family has already filed an FIR, demanding immediate justice. As tensions rise, pressure mounts on the police to take swift action against the perpetrators of this gruesome act.
