Assam: Husband allegedly murders wife by slitting throat in Dhubri

A gruesome murder took place on Tuesday evening in Chapar under the Dubri district. Saidul Rahman, the husbandMallegedly slit his wife's throat leaving their three-year-old son traumatized.

The heinous crime occurred in the Chapar Rangamati area, specifically in the small village of Juglikanda falling under the jurisdiction of the Chapar police station. Rahman reportedly severed the head of his wife Najmina Begum, in a horrifying act of violence.

Following the brutal attack, Rahman fled the scene. Alerted by the neighborhood residents, the police promptly arrived at the location. They transported Begum's body to the Chapar police station for further investigation.

Afterwards, the police carried out a search for the accused, and Deepjyoti Ingti, the official incharge of the Chapar police station, was notified that Rahman was being held overnight in the Choibari area, which is situated between the borders of Dhubri and Kokrajhar.
