Assam: Journalists in Goalpara stage protest against Dilwar Hussain Mazumdar’s arrest

The arrest of senior journalist Dilwar Hussain Mazumdar has sparked widespread protests in Goalpara, with journalists and civil society groups strongly condemning the move.

In response, the District Journalists' Association organized a sit-in demonstration in front of the District Commissioner’s office, demanding justice and expressing concerns over press freedom.

Journalists, along with members of various political and social organizations, donned black badges to denounce the arrest. 

Protestors urged authorities to ensure fair treatment of media professionals and called for the immediate release of Mazumdar.
