Forest officials from the Sakmuthi forest camp led by Forest Officer Niloy Barua and former Forest Officer Pradeep Goswami of Budhapahar forest range in Kaziranga National Park have successfully apprehended two individuals involved in the killing of wild animals.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Ohinath Orang, a resident of Sakmuthi tea garden and Chamung Timung, a resident of Bamuni Pathar, according to the forest department.
During the operation, forest officials seized a handmade gun, ammunition, and two mobile phones from the possession of the poachers.
Subsequently, the two suspects were presented before the Kaliabor sub-divisional magistrate court and remanded to jail custody.
