Assam: Kokrajhar celebrates Rongjali Bwisagu, minister Urkhao Goura Brahma joins festivities

The vibrant and colorful festivities of Rongjali Bwisagu came alive in Kokrajhar as the All Bodo Students' Union (ABSU) organized a grand celebration, showcasing the rich cultural heritage of Assam.

Minister Urkhao Goura Brahma, danced to the rhythmic beats of Baishagu, Kham, and Sifung, immersing himself in the Celebration of Bwisagu. His energetic participation added to the festive atmosphere, reflecting the unity and diversity of Assam's cultural mosaic.

Extending heartfelt greetings, Minister Urkhao Goura Brahma conveyed warm wishes to the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and the people of Assam on the occasion of Rangali Baishagu and Rongali Bihu. He emphasized the significance of preserving and cherishing traditions, noting that every caste, community, and tribe in Assam has maintained their respective cultural practices, welcoming the New Year with enthusiasm and joy amidst the vibrant colors of Rongjali Bwisagu and Rangali Bihu.

The ABSU's initiative to organize an open Rangjali Vaisagu at the Government Higher Secondary School ground in Kokrajhar drew participants of all ages, from elders to youngsters, joining in the Bwisagu dance and revelry. The event served as a platform for cultural exchange and celebration, fostering a sense of unity and pride in Assam's diverse cultural heritage.

Cabinet Minister Urkhao Goura Brahma, ABSU Central General Secretary Khanindra Basumatary, Vice President, and other dignitaries were present, actively participating in the Rangjali Vaisagu celebration program. Their presence highlighted the communal harmony and shared cultural ethos that defines Assam's festive spirit during Rongjali Bwisagu and similar celebrations across the region.
