Assam: Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Himanta Biswa Sarma assures cashless medical treatment via ration cards

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma while addressing a crowd in Digboi ahead of the Lok Sabha elections 2024 said that the government is making significant strides in providing cashless treatment for ration card holders.

During his speech, he addressed concerns regarding access to affordable medical treatment. He introduced a new initiative wherein citizens can obtain an Ayushman Card by submitting their ration card. "This Ayushman Card entitles holders to receive medical treatment worth up to Rs 5 lakh free of charge. This initiative aims to alleviate the anxieties of individuals who previously fretted over the financial burden of illnesses and diseases. Moreover, those possessing a ration card will also benefit from the Orunodoi scheme, further extending assistance and support to the people of Assam" said Assam CM. 

Meanwhile, the chief minister while addressing the crowd in Digboi said that the government has fulfilled its promise of providing Rs 1 lakh jobs and that more jobs will be announced after the elections.
