A massive fire broke out in East Market of Kalgachia, Assam in the early hours of Wednesday, September 27 in which around 8-10 shops suffered extensive damage.
The house of one Kobbad Ali was also extensively damaged along with the shops.
As per preliminary reports, property worth around Rs 50-60 lakh was gutted in the fire.
The fire has been currently brought under control with the promptness and quick action by Kalgachia fire brigade and the public.
Hundreds of other shops in the vicinity of the market however suffered no damages.
People suspect that the fire was caused by a short circuit..
