Assam minister Krishnendu Paul confident of panchayat poll success, vows action against encroachments

In preparation for the upcoming Panchayat elections, a BJP workers’ conference was held today, January 19 in Bongaigaon district, aimed at energizing grassroots-level workers. Minister Krishnendu Paul participated in the event, distributing food during a community feast organized for attendees.

Addressing the gathering, Minister Paul expressed unwavering confidence in the BJP’s prospects, asserting that the party would achieve a 100 per cent positive outcome in the elections. “The commitment and groundwork laid by our party workers will undoubtedly translate into a resounding victory,” he stated.

The minister also tackled a pressing local issue, vowing decisive action against encroachments on Bongaigaon’s historic Konora Beel. “There will be no compromise in removing encroachments. A departmental investigation is underway to address encroachments on water bodies across Assam, ensuring their preservation,” he assured.

Looking ahead, Paul emphasized the state government’s ambitious agricultural targets. By 2030, Assam aims to produce 7 lakh metric tons of fish annually and 10 lakh liters of milk daily, transforming the state into an exporter of these essential commodities rather than an importer. “This vision reflects our commitment to self-reliance and economic growth,” the minister added.
